Get a price to fix the car to your satisfaction from a known to you bodyshop.

Are you dealing with your insurer or the 3rd party insurer?


Negotiate a settlement figure for the car as a write-off.
Once agreed ask how much to buy back the written off car.

Then do the arithmetic - £payout less (scrap price + bodyshop) = £XXXX

If you want to keep the car + a few £££S in your pocket you can do a deal.

If you do not like the deal, take the write-off figure and go car shopping.
