So does a car's value for insurance purposes included private registration plates? I would hope not. But I can see why an insurer with a car written on with a valued plate would want to keep it for obvious reasons.

I ask because if in an accident the private plate made no difference. If it's stolen (and valid MOT) and never recovered you can get the plate back.
