Then you really ned to try the system without AVG. I deleted AVG years ago because of a performance issue, but you'd have thought it would have improved by now.
Uninstall it, but either install something else, such as Windows Defender, or take your internet cable out beforehand.
If it makes a difference, then I guess you're moving in the right direction.
And Zero, whilst you may be right, I have never found a full install necessary and frankly neither could I possibly be bothered to do it.
