Diluted Milton. about 10:1. I use it for the caravan drinking water system. Rinse off or wipe with clean water afterwards.
Just try not to get it on the carpet as it will bleach, but it will kill mould and if it's safe on baby cups etc. I think it's probably OK for animals.
I profess no expertise but that's what I'd do, just don't soak the carpet with it. Maybe cover with plastic.
Edit, second thoughts - maybe clean with flash or whatever first then just wipe over with Milton to kill the mould?
