Top marks to the AA today.
A severe vibration at the front of my old Megane had me convinced I was on a puncture on the M60. Headed to the hard shoulder and all tyres still round and black.
Called the AA and a contracted garage arrived with a flatbed about 15 minutes later. They loaded the car and got me to the safety of a supermarket car park. About 10 minutes later, an AA patrol arrived, and, after prodding, poking and wobbling things diagnosed a seized from caliper.
He stripped and lubricated the caliper, reassembled to it no avail, then went off to Eurocarparts for a new one and fitted it in Morrison’s car park.
Not the cheapest caliper I’ve ever bought, but an uneventful subsequent drive from Stockport to Watford.
