"Went to NT Felbrigg Hall, a more uninspiring gloomy dusty old pile you will find anywhere. Avoid."
Well if you do avoid you will miss what I believe to be the best gardens in Norfolk, particularly the walled garden and the recently restored old orchard. You will also miss some beautiful walks through the parkland around the lake and to the old church. Well worth visiting throughout the year to see the change of seasons.
I actually rather like the house too which is a blend of the original Jacobean and 18th century extension and has a far move liveable feel that the grandeur of nearby Blickling Hall. Did a tour of the basement and attics last year which was fascinating.
Tearooms in the old stable block are rather good too. V. popular with dog walkers.
