I think part of the problem is just how effective vaccination has been in preventing infectious diseases and are unaware of how it was to live with these diseases
Small pox has been eliminated and the diseases of our childhood and our parents childhoods are virtually unknown thanks to vaccination
Polio was a terrifying disease when I was small and I can till remember sleeping in a darkened room with measles. TB killed millions in the first part of the 20th century as did Diphtheria.
Whooping cough, German Measles, Mumps are nasty and sometimes fatal diseases and those that oppose vaccination should count themselves fortunate that they have the luxury of living in a time and place where these diseases are virtually unknown thanks to the very thing they oppose.
