But they have been replaced in a lot of parts in the country, on the west coast for example (London to Glasgow) they have all been replaced by Pendolinos. The last time I sawe a MK3 at Picciddily was in 2005 and that was pulled by a rented class 67.
When they took them off the west coast that would have freed 100's of carraiges for other parts of the country.
I should also add since the class 43s have been removed from the west coast line the journey time from Manchester to London has almost halved.
