What platform are you using to view your Hotmail emails on?

Web browser? Which one? Have you tried a different one?

dedicated App?

Phone or Tablet?

AN Other?

Have you tried another platform to see if it also happens there to?

Let me apologise in advance for my lack of computer knowledge.
The only platforms i'm used to are at railway stations!
The problem is only on my desktop computer which has the latest version of Windows.
I've used Hotmail for many years without any problem.
Hotmail on my Ipad is fine.
I don't have a smartphone.

Thank you for your help

Try it on another web browser and see if it still does it. Plenty to chose from.

To ensure I understand....

You use a Web browser to access your email. At outlook.com I assume.

When you look in the inbox there are two copies of every email.

One can be deleted, the other cannot and remains there.

Is that correct?

Outlook.com works fine for me on Internet Explorer and MS Edge.

Suggest you try one of these browsers, and if it doesn't happen with either of these, then try clearing your browser cache and cookies on the browser(s) it does occur.

Apologies for delay.

I know you said you don't have a smartphone, but do you have the outlook application installed on any PC or tablet?

Have you been doing anything with auto-forward lately? Do you have alternate e-mail addresses set up?

Does it happen on just received email or sent as well? What happens if you send yourself an email?

Could you explain a bit more about what happens when you try to delete the undeletable one?
