I've been aware for a while that my PC isn't displaying JPEG images correctly.
Been tidying up at home today and found several DVDs of work conferences/events from the noughties. When I try and view them there's no detail, just a black background.
Running windows 10 on an HP tower AMD Radeon Processor.
Any ideas?

Are all your other photos (other than from the DVD) displaying OK?
If so, right click on one of the problem ones from the DVD, Properties/Details. Scroll down and look at "Colour Representation".
sRGB should be OK, but historically there have been (similar) issues with those saved as CMYK.

sRGB it is.
Not just this has issues with my own pics from phone etc that have been uploaded.
OK in Irfan view, issue seems to be the default app for pictures.

what are you using to view the files? Try another tool www.irfanview.com/

Thanks Zeddo, we crossed.

As per Z, which app is your default?
Also, is the file extension .jpg or .jpeg? Both are valid, but they may have different apps associated with each extension.
