Quite exciting news yesterday of the scale of the British legs of the TdF. Made me laugh last night when the Wales news announced the Wales leg will start at Welshpool (Y Trallwng) Powys, maybe they mistook Powys for Paris er...Fwance !

Yes, I'll be heading for stage 3 in the hills before the finish in Cardiff. Just need the weather to play ball!

When it came to the olympic cycling in the UK in 2012, every traffic rule went out the window, one ways, keep left, give ways, traffic lights* stop lines, and yes speed limits. Fortunatley a lot of the speed humps went as well, not all of them reinstated.

*Sorry should have used the new police term Automated Traffic Signals.

Lot of urban roads in France are 30kph, the km/h equivalent on mph.

They manage when Le Tour comes by.

The 2024 Tour of Britain had to be rerouted to avoid the Welsh 20 mph limits which the support cars would have run foul of.

Club level racing, which takes place on open roads has been hit hard by the 20mph limits.
