HAving got my new PC up and running I've been going through an archive of pictures form 20+ years ago.
Some are on what's labelled as a recordable CD in jpg format.
I've an external CD drive plugged into the PC but although I can see the individual JPG files in file explorer it seems impossible to either open/view or to copy and paste them to the PC.
Is this a known issue with old tech compatibility?

External drive is new as modern PCs no longer incorporate Optical drive. Not even a cut out where I could install one from my stock of PC bits.
Having tried in another device with a CD-ROM drive I'm thinking there might be a corruption issue.
Pics were titled Dad's 40th which surprised me as I didn't think we'd a digital camera in 1999.
Having got some of them to open Dad in question was not me but a family friend who, 20+ years on, is my Daughter's father in law and my Grandson's 'Taid'.
Using Welsh solved the who is going to be Granny/Grandad issue....
