First week of my recent overseas trip and French cows took an unhealthy interest in my shiny Vitara bonnet…Atlantis Turquoise.
It was hot weather, and can only assume they mistook it for a water trough. A group of us were parked on a high col and returning 6 hours later only 2 out of our 6 vehicles were affected. Both bright blue.
My NS front wing was pushed in by cow/s leaning against it, but the door still opened. Just. Not repaired at the local body shop but now I’ve given the car a good clean, there are lots of small scratches on both front wings caused by cow bells. White primer showing through, but not fown to the metal.
Is it worth having a go with T Cut before i use touch up paint?
The other blue car didn’t fare so well..,all the front grille bashed in with cowbell action and a door mirror knocked off.
The other cars, inc a new orange Duster, red, white and silver others apparently not touched..

I have used the Chipex Paint Chip Repair system on a dark blue metallic bonnet for stone rash. It says it can also be used for scratches. My result was not perfect but a step up from just the paint pen. However it advises that white scratches may not be primer but may be the clear coat crazing and that the best remedy is to have it professionally polished.
If indeed it is through to the primer then it’s probably too late for T Cut.
It’s going to hard to touch up metallic turquoise as a DIY job. It’s not clear if the body shop has repaired the wing (“Not” is maybe typo for “Now” ?). Did they offer a view?

The paintwork on my vitara is pretty poor . Chips very easily. I tried some touch up paint, but it made it look worse. Perhaps it’s the colour that’s tricky. Ivory beige .

Youve got a few options.
1) live with the scratches
2) try a coloured polish, if there down to the primer t cut won't help
3) As mentioned try a chipex kit, about the best touch up kits around
4) get a bodyshop to sort it (that would be my preference)

For my S-cross, I had a local chips repair man stop by yesterday.. half inch crack in bumper "welded" and paint a good bit around it £200.
His honest opinion... Don't bother...

Glad it's sorted ORB, as with you things like that do bother me, pride of ownership is no longer a thing with so many nowadays.
