Beat me to it!!

A quick search however discloses it was the Big C that got him.

He'd also upset the late Queen by graffitoing a bridge near Windsor Castle.

I saw one of his tags in Athens last year and was explaining to my hosts that I had seen that in a few places in the UK, but had not expected to see it there...

Graffiti was virtually unknown here until the 1970s apart from the odd “Kilroy was here “on the back of a toilet door and has spread from the USA like a disease across the word defacing public and private buildings and vehicles and costing millions upon millions to remove. It makes an area look run down and is associated with crime and gang culture.

It’s nothing to celebrate.
