SWMBO did a lovely beef casserole (spuds, carrots, pepper, mushroom and probably a dash of garlic, etc.) the other night and after months of salads, I thought it was delicious. I thought that what it wanted was a bit of kidney. I don't recall seeing much since mad-cow-disease.
Not living here long, I called a nearby, butcher and asked, they replied they could certainly oblige. £3.50 later I had half-a- pound of steak and kidney. SWMBO baked a pie and it was delicious.
Now all I have to do, is determine if they also do diced venison, game pie mix and decent fillet steaks.

I could go some liver & bacon anytime, but I'd rather eat my dog's kibble than eat kidney.

I have a fussy son-in-law who won't touch anything he sees as offal. I enjoy liver, kidney, tongue, but don't go as far as trotters or pig's ears.

Whatever it is it has to be cooked properly. Steaks can be medium-rare with a hint of pink.

As above heart is tasty. It’s after all a very lean muscle so is much like steak if fried. I suspect everyone has eaten the albeit in foods like shop meat pies and sausages and haggis. Had brains once. Deep fried in batter. I seem to recall they had texture of scampi.

I've eaten trotters and hearts decades ago. I wouldn't fancy 'em now though, unless Putin pays us a, um, visit.
My dog likes pig's ears, but then he is a bit of a pig himself.

There's not much i won't eat,love game, offal etc, haggis is a particular favourite, wife makes a lovely stuffed chicken breast with it wrapped in streaky bacon.
Weirdly I can't stand broccoli of all things.

Forgot to mention Scottish black pudding, better than the Lancashire variety. Have had some by mail order from Moffat once or twice, or dropped in the butcher's there on the way north.
