Went on honeymoon there many decades ago, and began returning a few years ago as it doesn’t effect my 90/180 Schengen days.
I’ve stayed in various parts of the Greek side but decided that Pafos was my preferred choice. The old town, away from the hotels in Kato Pafos on the front, is a great way to escape the tourist bars, and an hours drive north is Polis, worth a visit, as is the nearby coast.
Some lovely marked walking trails in the NW, affording glorious views of different coastlines from the national park area, even extending to the Troodos.
Jet2 offer good flight prices if you can be flexible on dates, local buses are cheap ( hourly service to Polis although we had a car) and a few Greek words are appreciated by the locals.
Decided to return in November when you can expect 21/24C highs, cheaper accommodation and sea temps ok for regular dips.
£39 outbound Jet2 from LBA too good to miss..one way at the moment, hoping inbound flights reduce in price :-)
