What is your favorite spyware removal tool? I've read that the best spyware removal tools on the market are these: Trend Micro Hijack, Ad-Aware, Spyware Terminator, Spybot – Search & Destroy 1.5. I've used Spybot but I am not too satisfied, but it's free so I shouldn't complain. Anyway give me your opinions,

Thanks.

I have the technicians licences for Malware Bytes, and Super Anti Spyware, I am also a reseller for Super Anti Sypware (SAS).

The customers I have sold SAS Pro to have been very happy with it, and it has picked up things the regular AV hasn't.

Process Explorer and Autoruns are vital programs too. I also run TDSS Killer. Rootrepeal and GMER are also vital tools.

I have written a program which runs most the automatic tools automatically, then removed them and produces a log at the end of it. Saves a lot of time, then I just run the manual tools and tidy everything up and fix any windows problems the spyware/malware has caused.

Not had any virus removal work for a week so it must have quietened down again.

No program is great but these are better ones.

Spybot is useless at removing or detecting anything which has a root kit infection.

I knew that before you posted it.

Try Ad-Aware from Lavasoft. The free version has antivirus & antispyware (the versions you pay for have additional features). I installed it on my PC at the recommendation of my brother-in-law (he's in IT) and it seems to do the job well. I do scans every now and then to clear out minor spyware and look for nasties. It's also very easy to use.

I dont rely on just one or two apps, I like to play!

I use widows firewall, Avast antivirus, and spyware blaster - all running in the background.
Then for cleaning toys i use : Superantispyware, Malwarebytes, Ccleaner, Glary utilities, spybot s/d 1.62 and system mechanic.

I don`t use them all everytime i do my housekeeping, but tend to randomly mix an match, as i find that they all find something different to the others, and over time I seem to cover most areas of junk, crud, an carp!
