Got a text message alert from DFDS today saying that if temperatures 24c + they will suspend pet travel between 10-oo and 16.oo tomorrow.
Added that full refund or rebook free of charge was available.
Phoned and asked to change booking, at first was told £160 extra. Only paid £149 return (early booking) (non-refundable) Pointed out that on the text message it said FOC and after checking with manager all done for free.
Got a new invoice by e-mail and a bit of creative accounting was done to make the price the same. (including a £20 amendment fee). Still ended up paying no more.
Leaving Dover 07.40 instead of 12.55.

What if one has an EV and can leave the a/c running?
|
Horses Mouth..
Leaving your EV's air conditioning running while parked on a car deck is generally prohibited due to maritime safety rules.

Zipped through Dover today. Scanned passports at french border control. No fingerprints or stamps
Hallelujah.
Weather terrible on the way and Dartford crossing down to one lane and a car burning nicely between J 1a and 1b. .
Occupant standing away. Looked like an E5 Renault to me

Showing my age, I thought it might have been his pig. ;-)

Andrew... You can go to the top of the class.
White flower it is..
We drove from Calais down the coast road past Gris Nez and Wimereux . We're staying in a small B&B in an 1860 townhouse. It's outrageously gorgeous.

Well, well, I never knew Wm Hague was married to a foxglove.
Some years ago my SiL had the satisfaction of evicting Mrs Hague from the seat he had booked on the train to Newcastle.

Probably because the manager of Dover port said this morning that the electronic checks aren't active for car passengers only coaches - apparently the 40 million pound facility is not active.

This is the lovely B&B we are staying at. Was recommended by a friend and hasn't disappointed.
No TV in rooms and no lift but only 3 floors inc the ground floor..
Best to book direct. Discount for stays over 3 days.
Nice fresh continental breakfast.

Yeah but as you go down the "tobbogan" to the roundabout by the entrance to the Eastern docks there's a sign saying head to the check in zone at the Western docks...,
