Wowser. I had a very last minute trip to Spain last month. Paid €15 day to OK Mobility on their cheapest ‘lite’ tariff.
I haven’t used the broker DYS for my last several rentals as I receive offers from OK which have always proved cheaper. And once I’ve bought a non refundable rental I never look back to see if prices have fallen. I have their app, collect OK Loyalty points, and all recent rentals have been fine. My next one, 2 weeks in April, is €14.25 per day, Peugeot 208 or similar, full to full fuel. In May I’ve just paid €12.50 per day. Seems the days of sub €10 daily rentals from ALC are over.
At their desk in the ALC Arrivals Hall I give them my passport, d licence and credit card, politely decline all ‘special offer’ upgrades, request a damage report print out, collect the car from the multi storey, move it into a well lit area, and check it over taking photos. Then drive away.
They must have all my previous rentals on screen upon collection, so know I’m not a soft touch for financial extortion.
