Apparently we need to get to around 70% vaccinated (with a working vaccine) for the program to be effective. Latest estimates that I’ve heard bandied around are that they’ll get to 50% reasonably quickly (end H1 2021), though obviously that’s only partly down to people not wanting to be vaccinated because simple logistics of getting people to appointments, availability of vaccine and capacity all impact the rate at which it’s rolled out.
On the plus side, round here large numbers of medically trained furloughed or redundant airline cabin crew (from LHR a d LGW) are being recruited to help administer the vaccine. I’m not sure whether or not to be reassured by that or not... ;)
