That doesn't sound like my experience with Direct Line. I've tried others but gone back to them each time. We were with Saga when we were burgled, boy, what a pain the claims process was. Then they put exclusions on our renewal, that if the keys were stolen from us and the thieves gained entry we weren't covered. No reason for that as that wasn't how the crime happened - they just broke though the front door in the middle of the night. In the past we've had a couple of accidental damage claims with DL which were absolutely painless.
Also used to use DL for car ins but recently went to More Than but as they couldn't insure my current wheels I had to move again, and DL weren't that cheap.
