I am very conscious of that, but never quite sure of the best way to deal with it. I suspect most of the poor sods in question would probably prefer that their employer was not just put out of business.
Better of course that the employers are made to provide decent working conditions and wages, that retailers care enough to set standards for suppliers, and that consumers are prepared to support the retailers who do. But it isn't always easy to know which those are, and paying a lot is probably no guarantee.
