Wish I'd found that Ashvale whale a few years back when I was sentenced to a year in Aberdeen delivering a project.
I remember the gulls well. We were only in city centre hotels, and they start squawking very early, very loudly, right outside your window. My counterpart flew in one day and his luggage missed the flight so he popped into M&S and got a new suit, and was crapped on by one on hos way tot eh office!
As an aside, once in a while we got to stay in some posh hotel which I can't find on Streetview - anyway, I was a smoker at the time and went out with a couple of others for a cough and a drag and who should ask us for a light for his fat cigar but David Dimbleby. He was waiting for his crew to pick him up, and quite happily chatted to us for 5 or 10 minutes. He turned out to be a very nice, ordinary kind of bloke...
